The new Bishop of St Albans was announced by Downing Street on Tuesday, January 13. Rev Dr Alan Smith, the Bishop of Shrewsbury, is the 10th Bishop of St Albans and received a warm welcome on that day from members of Luton Council of Faiths at St Andrew’s Church, Luton where a brief press conference was held. Rev Alan Smith is well known for his interest in interfaith dialogue. On the auspicious occasion of his nomination, the Community Faith Development Worker for LCOF welcomed him on behalf all faiths communities where he was blessed in different languages spoken in the town.
