 For the third time, Lutonians had the opportunity to experience a Berakah concert organised by Luton Council of Faiths, on September 29. It was an emotional event with the young British Muslim, Christian and Jewish band making music together. Two other major activities happened that evening. The Empress Cafe at the Library theatre is the First African/Carribean Fairtarde Cafe in Luton. Congratulations were given by many political, secular and faith leaders of the town and a Fairtrade support certificate was presented by the leader of the Council, Cllr Hazel Simmons. Luton Council of Faiths also launched the Christian, Muslim, Jewish together in Luton. Zafar Khan, Chair of Luton Council of Faiths congratulated the leaders for their efforts to keep peace and dialogue open in the town. He also acknowledged the contribution of all other faiths for their support and continuous engagement with LCOF and the wider community for social cohesion. Fairtrade refreshments were provided on the night by Empress Cafe. The event was sponsored for Luton Council of Faiths by Awards for All, Luton Borough Council, Grassroots and the United Reformed Church. It was a great night. The band rocked and as Mo Nassam, leader of the band said, ‘Luton has rhythm’.
