On the 14th Annual Peace Walk/Ride 2010, Medina Mosque in Oak Road, Bury Park was launched as the 2nd Fairtrade Mosque in the Uk and the first in the East of England. Dr. Fiaz Hussain spoke about the history of the mosque and Hamayoon Sultan from the Islamic Relief organisation explained the importance of Fair-trade, especially in the Muslim community not just as a means of charity, rather valuing human dignity with proper paid work towards an economy of peace.

Catherine Reiner of the Fairtrade Foundation spoke about her exciting experiences raising awareness of the campaign and handed the Fairtrade certificate to the President of the mosque, the second Fairtrade Mosque in the UK – and the first in the region - was officially launched.
