Community work

LCOF being more an organic organisation runs a series of events at community level whether it is musical concerts, sports, youth work, conferences and family gatherings so as to get people coming together, to learn about each other,  build friendship in mutual respect and tolerance.

Our main and popular  events:

  • Cricket Match
  • Peace Walk (Previously Faith Walk)
  • Music for peace (E.g Berakah Concert)
  • One World Week
  • Youth Conference

Fairtrade:

LCOF with it's leading partner organisation Grassroots (a Christian ecumenical programme working with different faith communities in Luton) is the catalyst to make Luton a Fairtrade Town and campaigns with it's multifaith and multicultural Steering Group to achieve this goal.

Advocacy and Consultation:

LCOF is a proactive organisation which advocates especially for the needs of faith communities. We are often called into consultation with statutory bodies and voluntary organsation.

Business Meetings:

LCOF's business meetings are held every second month where different faiths and cultures in Luton are represented. On average 15-25 members attend to discuss issues, share the work progress on different projects and also to strengthen the good relations across faiths and cultures.

Training:

LCOF is  often called for running training and presentation on diversity to communities, statutory organisations and voluntary sector.
