|10/06/17||This is Luton Festival||12:00 - 17:00||Wardown Park||The festival, funded by the Big Lottery, will feature a variety of stalls highlighting Luton’s communities’ history and cultures, foods to sample, music and dance performances, as well as a cultural fashion show, reflecting the diversity of the town. There will also be competitions and prizes and children’s activities including face painting/mendhi workshop, bouncy castle, balloon modelling and games. Luton in Harmony will also be supporting the Great Get Together initiative, in memory of Jo Cox, which is a national celebration aiming to bring communities together. As part of the festival we are encouraging people to bring picnics to the park and have conversations with their neighbours.|
|10/06/17||The Big Iftar||

In the evening, residents and visitors to the town are invited to The Big Iftar, which is a community event to mark the breaking of the daily fast of Ramadan. Here you can learn about Ramadan and why the Muslim community fast. The programme will include children’s activities, face painting, mendhi and a quiz to test your knowledge. A cultural meal will be provided once the fast has been broken. To receive the free meal please present the ticket booked via Eventbrite (tickets will also be available from the Luton in Harmony stand during the “This is Luton Festival”).

This year's Peace Walk, an annual public demonstration of community solidarity to build a stronger Luton by fostering better understanding, will be focused in the High Town area of Luton. The Peace Walk will visit places of worship with other activities along the way. Final details to be publicised soon.
